What it does

Everything a Slack poll should do — but doesn't

/chooseday create

Open a modal, fill in your question and options, pick a deadline — Chooseday posts the decision to any channel. From command to live vote in under 30 seconds.

Genuinely anonymous voting

Anonymous mode is on by default. Nobody sees who voted for what — not the decision creator, not workspace admins. Real anonymity produces real opinions.

Automatic deadline reminders

Chooseday messages non-voters directly as the deadline approaches. No manual chasing, no second reminder post in the channel — it handles it.

Ranked choice via /chooseday

Run ranked choice (instant-runoff) votes directly from Slack. Participants rank their preferences and Chooseday calculates the winner automatically.

Async-first for distributed teams

Votes stay open until the deadline. Teammates in different time zones vote when they're working — the result reflects the whole team, not just whoever was online.

Permanent decision record

Every decision voted in Slack is logged in your Chooseday dashboard — question, options, vote counts, winner, timestamp. Searchable months later.

Frequently asked questions

No. Chooseday posts voting links in Slack that anyone with access to the channel can use — no account required. Only the decision creator needs a Chooseday Team plan account.

The native Slack app (slash commands, home tab, automated reminders) requires a Chooseday Team plan. If you're on a Free or Pro plan, you can still use Chooseday with Slack by sharing a voting link in any channel — that works on all plans.

Yes. When anonymous mode is enabled, individual votes are never exposed — not in the Slack message, not in the Chooseday dashboard, not to workspace admins. Chooseday only stores whether a token has voted, not which option it chose.

Chooseday requests: commands (slash commands), chat:write and chat:write.public (posting decision messages and results), channels:read (letting you pick a channel from a list), and users:read and users:read.email (matching Slack accounts to Chooseday accounts for reminders).

Yes — create a decision in Chooseday, copy the voting link, and paste it in any Slack channel. Anyone with the link votes in their browser. This link-based flow works on all plans and requires no installation.

Go to Settings → Integrations in your Chooseday workspace and click Disconnect. You can also revoke access from your Slack workspace settings under Installed Apps.
